My main reason for purchasing this was because I work part time in an office environment and thought it was about time I have a briefcase. I didn't want any old laptop case or anything, it had to be tacticool and this definitely fit the bill. Maxpedition products are always high quality and you get what you pay for.The Good-The material is excellent. I think Maxpedition's website says it is made of 1000 denier nylon which is super tough. The handle, shoulder pad, and the bottom of the bag have a sort of grippy rubbery coating on it. Some of the pictures show the bag having only a velcro strap to hold the handles together but I think that was an old design.-The bag comes with a huge velcro panel in the main compartment that comes with a concealed carry pistol holster and elastic retention mag holsters. Its super hard to get a concealed carry permit where I live so I use them to hold other things. On the backside of the velcro panel are small pockets.-The D ring on the front acts like a pull tab to open another large but flat pocket on the bag. I imagine this is where your pistol would go if you concealed carry. I just use it to hold smaller objects I don't want to lose in the main compartment.-Additionally there are two loop...type...thingies...that are supposed to hold a large flashlight or something equally long and cylindrical. I use it to hold my SOG tomahawk sometimes or a small umbrella.-The zipper pulls are all 550 cord and the retention straps for the water bottle holster and radio holster are both made out of a durable bungee type material.The Okay-The velcro real estate on the front is pretty neat but kind of an awkward size. I think its just big enough for two name tapes, so I guess one for your name and another for your branch if you're into that. I put novelty patches on it.The Bad-Someone else mentioned that the D rings and the clips for the shoulder strap are now all made out of plastic and this is true for my bag too. Although it does seem to be a pretty durable plastic. If they were aluminum or something else that was not prone to rust that would pretty much be the only improvement that could be made to this bag.
