I destroy boots. My job requires me to work in all interior and exterior environments. I crawl in crawl spaces, climb ladders, work in wet standing water, greasy floors, carry back pack mist blowers and treat acers of land. When I'm not at my day job I spend alot of time in the woods, clearing trees and other land clearing activities, hiking and hunting. On top of that I have a plate in my ankle from an old break. I go back and forth between a heavier work boot or a lighter hiking boot or trail runner. None of them gave me the support or comfort this 5.11 mid has. Usually after 6 months the heels are worn, the seems come apart or the sole is dead. The 5.11 has held up in all the conditions I've mentioned above and has become my every day shoe. The load bearing system is second to none, I haven't had pain in my ankel once, from walking on uneven ground, standing for hours on concrete, and even standing on ladder rungs for an hour at a time. The only one thing that could be considered a draw back is working on shale the sharper edges will cut the tread but I believe that would happen on any tread. I also don't expect the protection running a chain saw as logging boot buts that's not what they are designed for to be fair. They are very light weight and very very durable. Most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. Will buy these still they stop making them. Thank you 5.11
