Upon initial fitting, (compared to most boots I’ve worn in my 21-yr military career) these “wide” boots were extremely snug in the tow box area. These boots, LIKE ANY BOOTS, have a break-in period. It took about two weeks of constant wear for proper heel-imbedding and flex-point break-in. The tow-box widened-out, as the flex-point broke-in. I swapped between lacing techniques to re-distribute uncomfortable top-side pressure and increase comfort during the process.Bear all of this in mind, if your initial fit isn't immediately comfortable. These have become exceptionally comfortable with time and the extended lacing (to the toe) has proven to be incredibly functional. Pretty close to perfect. Some things to point out to those wondering:1. Don't expect much tactile feel or flex from the sole. These are purpose-built "hiking boots", not shoes.2. The sole is not a "zero drop", if that matters.3. Yes, they're very light. Some tips to increase your comfort, if you buy these, or have already bought these:1. Remove the rubber Tactical Research label from the tongue. Where it's positioned, it sits directly behind the knot, when you tie them up. It can cause some pretty uncomfortable pressure at the front of the ankle. Removing it increases comfort around the ankle immensely.2. Re-lace them in a way that’s comfortable for you. There's a few different boot lacing techniques you'll find, if you search the topic. Re-lacing is practical for redistributing tension across the top of your foot for different arch and foot types. It can make a huge difference in break-in and overall comfort. The construction of the boots seem as though they’ll be durable.i like the boot, fits as expected, it is a good 2nd pair of bootsronOrdered my usual size. These boots were easily two sizes too big. Can't say anything about build quality because they went right back in the box and returned. Ordering footwear online is such a crapshoot. Rarely get a good fitting boot.Light weight, looks sharpI ordered 13w in these Boots because I needed a wide toe box for an injury. They serve that purpose with a little more stylish appearance than an orthopedic boot. They are firm. The break in period will determine if we go from 4 to 5 stars.Good tactical boot well built and seems durable is not that lightweight but neither heavy. It requires some breaking in because the ankle part on the inside is leather and until it's "polished" by friction with you heel can result in blistering your feet so is not recommended to go on long walks/runs/hikes straight out of the box even with military thick socks, it's a good boot but take it slow at the beginning.A minus would be the design, in the picture looks ok but it looks kind of strange when you looking down at your feet with that lacing starting from almost the tip of the boot.I really liked the look of this boot, unfortunately it was not available in wide and the regular was too uncomfortable. Likewise, this boot has a pretty firm insole and I’ve had too many boots that didn’t require the break-in period that this boot would need. If they add a wide version and a more comfortable insole, this would be a great boot, especially for work.
