I saw another review say they bought these to climb the Half Dome cables and they worked well, so I did the same. They were right, they worked great. The grip on these is intense, and I felt meaningfully more secure than I did last time I climbed Half Dome with basic rubberized gardening gloves. The specific glove sizes and velcro closure make them much more secure on your hands. Small pieces of the grip material did come off in places, but overall I think they held up well. I wouldn't hesitate to use the same pair to climb the cables again. The sweat wiper area is a nice touch as well, I definitely used that as it was 105 in Yosemite Valley the day we climbed (probably 90-something on the rock).Side note, these would NOT make good tactical gloves for me. They are SO grippy (and I have kinda fat fingers) that I cannot slide my finger into a typical trigger guard without feeling like I might accidentally pull the trigger. Pretty sketchy, actually. Maybe it's better if you have smaller hands (I wear size 10), but DEFINITELY test them with an unloaded weapon first.
